A great way to start the day

After 12 hours of dancing, it’s all about the muffin.

Clad in orange t-shirts reading “Fooders,” the DM Food Committee frantically set up tables containing breakfast for the dancers. Muffins, cereal from Cereality and orange juice were put on the tables. One member of the grub-gathering group, donning a headset, barked out militray-like commands to both the Food committee and Dancer Relations, whom he urged to form a human wall so “we don’t have any human escapees.”

“If [the dancers] hesitate with the flavor of cereal, just give them one,” he said, before adding, “In the face! Bam!”

The food team is now waiting for the dancers to show up and eat. A few members break out into singing “Breakfast at Tiffanies.” But the hall soon grows silent. A nervous anticipation grows, as the cattle-like herd of dancers haven’t stampeded down the hall yet. Apparently, Dancer Relations is still putting tarps down so the dancers have somewhere to sit. Still quiet.

People start clapping. The dancers turn the corner, moving briskly toward the foodstuffs. They make it to the tables, and begin lunging for muffins. Most of the dancers don’t know what flavor cereal is being offered, so the girl giving out the tiny boxes develops the mantra “Cheerios and Charms here, chocolate and cherries here.”

Most dancers can barely hold all the breakfast they’ve acquired, and are forced to juggle with cups of orange juice and muffins as they march back into Louis to munch down.
