What does ‘hooking up’ mean, anyways?

    But I think the whole point of hooking up is that you can say it vaguely – if you want it to be less than it is, you can say “oh, we were just hooking up” but if you only made out and you want people to think more, you can say “we HOOKED UP.”

    it’s all about connotation and emphasis.

    hooking up is HOOKING UP, man.

    just like anything else, you can change what it means with the intonation of your words. which is TIGHT.
