Podcast: Grad student trains for this week’s Chicago Marathon

Photo courtesy of Lauren ReinkeWhen Khalid Khannouchi broke the men’s marathon world record in 1999, NU graduate student Lauren Reinke greeted him at the finish line: as a worker, she ensured runners got tested for drugs. Now, she’s training for the 26.2-mile Chicago Marathon on Oct. 7, and in the process has battled salmonella and run in the dead of winter.
