Neko Case is all about rockstar, but only when it comes to this band -- her solo work stands on its own. I don't think it matters much anymore, however, as I suspect her associated with the band will fade away. Expect a lot more from Kathryn Calder, Newman's niece and the keyboardist, on the next LP. In the Chicago Public Radio studios earlier that afternoon, Calder filled in perfectly for Neko.
