Facebook: Now with bad music!
If you hate Facebook’s (not so) slow MySpaceization, you’ll just love this tidbit. Apparently, Facebook plans to launch an application known as Facebook Music, the social-networking monsters first step into the musical world. Now, I don’t know how reliable a source Co-Ed Magazine is, but they claim Facebook will announce the app next week in New York. Oh, they’ve also been rumored to be in top secret discussiong with the four biggest record labels in all the land. If this news turns out to be true, you’ll now have the ability to be a fan of a band, giving you access to that group’s media. Oh, and you can put music in your profile. I would like to see how much like MySpace this endeavor ends up – if Tom and his cohorts have done anything right, they’ve given artists a platform to share their music with the world. Facebook should also give artists, big and tiny alike, a place to share their sounds, and not just hot new Justin Timberlake wallpaper. At least I can defriend everyone in my social universe who fancies Soulja Boy.
