A recent scientific breakthrough in stem cell research means that aborted human embryos might be ditched in favor of a new technique that creates stem cells out of human skin.

The technique is brand-new, but it could remove the controversy currently raging over stem cell research. One scientist involved called it “a tremendous scientific milestone — the biological equivalent of the Wright Brothers’ first airplane.”

The pro-life Bush administration is, of course, ecstatic as well: the breakthrough might mean saving helpless little bundles of cells – fully formed humans, really – from the vicious jaws of science!
