Frats getting record number of new members
A record number of students have accepted bids from NU fraternities so far during this year’s recruitment, the office of fraternity and sorority life said Thursday.
Fraternities have received 224 new members after Wednesday, the second night of recruitment, which is a record-setting pace, said Dominic Greene, director of the office of fraternity and sorority life. At this time last year, 201 bids had been “dropped,” or accepted. The number of dropped bids after Tuesday night was also the highest on record.
Elder Hall, Bobb Hall and Allison Hall have had the highest numbers of residents accepting bids so far this year.
Fraternity recruitment lasts until Saturday night, with each of the 16 fraternities offering dinner at 5 p.m. and entertainment at 8 p.m.
