More than 25,000 apply to NU, setting new record

Northwestern received more than 25,000 applications for the freshmen class entering this fall, the school announced Monday.

Though the final numbers aren’t in, that’s about a 14 percent increase over last year, and a 54 percent increase over the past three years.

Credit goes to students and faculty winning prestigious grants, and NU’s wide range of research, said Michael Mills, associate provost for undergraduate enrollment, in a press release.

Northwestern also received a 16.9 percent increase in early decision applications this year.
