It’s official: Former Governor Huckabee wins the Republican West Virginia caucus with 52% of the vote. Romney had a close second with 47% but with the winner-takes-all GOP format, 47% gets him a whole lot of nothing. Huckabee walks away with 18 committed delegates. It’s not that simple, though. When there wasn’t a clear winner after the first round of voting, seeing that they didn’t have a shot at winning, the majority of McCain’s supporters decided to switch over to Huckabee to deny Mitt Romney the first victory of the day.
