Huckabee Takes WV; McCain Hates Romney

It’s official: Former Governor Huckabee wins the Republican West Virginia caucus with 52% of the vote. Romney had a close second with 47% but with the winner-takes-all GOP format, 47% gets him a whole lot of nothing. Huckabee walks away with 18 committed delegates. It’s not that simple, though. When there wasn’t a clear winner after the first round of voting, seeing that they didn’t have a shot at winning, the majority of McCain’s supporters decided to switch over to Huckabee to deny Mitt Romney the first victory of the day. Reuters is constantly updating their commentary of this win.
