Over pizza and pop, professors and students gather to watch the election
By
In Scott Hall on Tuesday night, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer blared over the buzz of the remaining twenty chatting students and professors. A small T.V., a projector/Internet combination and a whiteboard kept score in the front of the room while 7UP cans and a pile of pizza boxes littered the back.
This was the scene at the tail end of the political science department’s primary-watching party, one of a few Super Tuesday gatherings on campus. Here’s what some participants had to say about their candidates, the media and the voting experience.
Ron Paul and the media: Adric Garlick, environmental science senior
Horrible CNN coverage: Sebastian Karcher, political science graduate student
Obama’s results: Cari Hennessy, political cience graduate student
An “amazing experience:” Lexie Komisar, political science junior
