Flight of the Conchords tickets on sale next Monday

A&O Productions confirmed Monday night that it will bring Flight of the Conchords to Northwestern on March 6.

Flight of the Conchords, the musical comedy duo that consists of New Zealanders Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement, will perform at Cahn Auditorium at 8 p.m, said Alex White, a SESP senior and A&O’s chairman.

Tickets will go on sale at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 25, for $10. Because of the popularity of A&O’s recent performers, students can bring only one WildCARD to the box office, meaning students can only buy four tickets each.

A&O looks forward to the uniqueness of the Conchords’ act, which consists largely of the songs written for their HBO series (and their EP “The Distant Future,” which won a Grammy this year), as well as stand-up and banter between songs.

“From what we gathered, it seemed like a lot of different groups on campus liked them,” said Diana Richter, Weinberg junior and A&O’s Director of Speakers and Special Events.

Richter explained that she and the A&O staff felt that the duo had wide appeal across different groups of students on campus. A&O noted that approximately 500 students had put the band under “favorite music” on their Facebook profiles.
