I salute you, people who tried to get Conchords tickets
A&O Productions struck gold this quarter, capturing the hearts and wallets of NU students thanks to Girl Talk and that guy from The Office who isn’t Dwight. And then they went and lapped themselves, by bringing in New Zealand yuck-kings Flight of the Conchords, loved for their funny HBO show and ability to sound like a folky (read: less interesting) Ween. I don’t have any sources (LOL LAVINE), but based on various frantic listserve e-mails and word-of-mouth rumblings, the tickets sold out like whoa this morning. Like, WHOA. You go A&O.
To all everyone who got tickets to the sure-to-be-hilarious show, congrats! You showed more dedication to nabbing tickets to watch two guys singing about robots then do other stuff like go to class or sleep. For everyone else who showed up at, say, 8:30 in the morning expecting to get tickets but ended up going home empty and sleepy, I’m so sorry. That sucks. A lot. You showed guts in going out there and trying, even if you failed miserably. But remember, you have two things to keep in mind.
1. You can surely buy a ticket from someone else for upwards to three-times the regular price.
2. You can always watch this video, which still makes me laugh!
