NU in 60 seconds: February 29

By Aubrey Blanche

What you need to know to live your life this weekend.

What to do:

  1. Support the victims of NIU. Phi Kappa Psi is hosting a basketball tournament to benefit the victims of NIU on Saturday. Be at Blomquist at 1 p.m. to shoot some hoops.
  2. Check out the king. Lovers and Madmen is putting on King Lear this weekend. Shows are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m.
  3. Be discontent. Need a laugh? Mee-Ow Talks Down To Children is performing all weekend in the Louis Room at Norris. Tickets are only on sale until Friday at 2 p.m., but there will be plenty available at the door. Inappropriate content is guaranteed.

What to know:

  1. Chicago walks to stop AIDS. Northwestern grad Liz Coleclough is leading more than 200 NU students to stop AIDS in Africa.
  2. You’re gonna be even poorer after you graduate. Tuition went up again, but don’t worry, so did financial aid. Let’s just hope you actually qualify for it.
  3. Theater majors do eat after college. An NU grad has landed a role in one of the hottest shows on Broadway. No, not Wicked. Adam Kantor will play one of the lead characters in the last run of Rent, beginning March 24.
