NU in 60 Seconds: March 7

What you need to know to live your life today.

What to do:

  1. LAX is Back: The women’s lacrosse team home opener is tomorrow at 4 p.m. at Lakeside Field. Take advantage of the borderline bearable weather and support this three time national championship winning team.
  2. Put your dancing shoes on: You might not have heard, but there’s this thing called “Dance Marathon” going on today. The festivities begin at 7 p.m. at Norris. If you’re not dancing, you can make a poster for your friends who are on the second floor of Norris for two dollars.
  3. And don’t forget about tennis: If you’re not dancing, head on down to SPAC at 6 p.m. to cheer on the women’s tennis team as they play Wisconsin.

What to know:

  1. There will be life outside of Norris this weekend: You don’t have to feel like you’re being punished for your lack of philanthropic fervor while all your friends are dancing this Friday and Saturday. Here is your guilt escape plan.
  2. Text messaging is a portal to the human mind: Sort of.
  3. Gandalf is Gollum: Well, they’re both being portrayed (along with entire remainder of the dramatis personae of the movie series) by NU theater major Tim McGovern. And, apparently, he pulls it off.
