Apple now #1 music retailer in US

According to an internal Apple e-mail leaked to Arstechinca, Apple is now the #1 music retailer in the United States.
Dominating an already saturated market in only 5 years time is impressive - albeit a little scary. Despite desires for change from some media giants such as Universal Music Group, Jobs has always stuck to his low 99 cent price point. Such diligence - or what some call bullying - has caused fights to break out between not only Apple and Universal, but also Apple and NBC. NBC stopped selling their TV shows on iTunes after their fall 2007 season.
Just last December, Apple snuck by Best Buy in sales. Looks like the rise to the top is a quick one.
And yes, I promise not to cover so much Apple stuff next week.

Simply mind-boggling.
It just goes to show that if you give your customer what they want (even it they didn’t know they wanted it), you can absolutely change the landscape of a mature business market.

Yeah, I am not surprised. Apple will gain even popularity in the coming months.
