TomKat breaks up; world ends
Although Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were clearly made for each other, the fates have intervened and the two are seeking a trial separation, according to Star magazine. Holmes is ready to take her act to Broadway, and is determined to bring daughter Suri, who is almost 2, with her.
Not that Cruise isn’t putting up a fight. The former box office boon refuses to let go of his daughter and his stringent rules surrounding her upbringing. The drama between Cruise and Holmes has caused Suri to spend increasing time with her nannies and less with her parents.
An insider told Star that Holmes “desperately needs to be on her own for a while, but there’s no way Tom is going to let her take Suri away.”
Hopefully, Holmes’s separation from the iron grip of Cruise and his pack of Scientology pals will bring back Dawson Creek-era Holmes — or at least someone with better taste than Mad Money.
