Don’t let your time go to waste today — in celebration of Earth Day, head over to Lunt Hall and gape at Mount Trashmore. It will be a pile of garbage representing six hours of trash collection on the Northwestern campus. Hopefully the free giveaways that are part of the event won’t stick too closely to the theme of junk.
As the nights in the library become longer and your Starbucks budget begins to dwindle, it’s time for some free coffee. Take the Center for Writing Arts’ survey for a chance to win a $50 Starbucks gift card. You don’t even have to use the Web site to take the survey (it’s in the first question!).
President Bush announced at the end of last week that his nomination of Steven Preston as the new Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Preston got his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern in 1982.
