This is amazing and I’m obsessed with Brittany Bull, but where was Taylor Ervin’s sign off? The segment just ended abruptly. You needed something like “For NBN, this is Taylor Ervin.”

You could’ve made this piece better by incorporating the overall experience of being an IM ref instead of just one person who has done it for one quarter.

In the case of this referee, it’s not her gender but her misunderstanding of the rules of football that might make it hard for players to respect her. Just a thought.

Brittany definitely knows her stuff. From talking with her and learning about her past experience, it’s impossible to claim that she misunderstands the rules. Soccer refs don’t get hired at the levels of play which she has officiated in the last couple years without a reputation for being fair, knowledgable, objective and authoritative.

Maybe it’s you who doesn’t understand the nuances of the rules.
