Great Ted Leo primer! I'm a huge fan and I'm hoping people attending this show are coherent enough to remember how good TL/Rx are after they sober up.

It is his live performances; I don't know if I hammered that enough, but every time I have given up on his records (for thinking they sound the same, for hating the over-verboseness, etc) I see him in concert (which time-wise has happened every six months for the last two years) and then I fall back in swing with the music. If the live concert does not convert, then Leo can be given up on, but he deserves that chance to make good.

Can you explain the mystery of Ted Leo's appeal? It has so far escaped me.
