That sucks. 2 months worth of data is a big deal. Best to keep the water away from the electronics at all times.

Great post! I lost 2 months worth of data thanks to my clumsiness with a glass of water while sitting at my computer:(

I soon found the solution. Spend extra $$$ and get a Panasonic Toughbook. Best decision I ever made.

Well said. Any time the “download song” is free, you are probably getting something more than you bargained for. Guys, nothing in life is free. They are either trying to sell your information, or worse, destroy your computer with a virus.

Just a question. I need to send my macbook to have it repaired because the hard drive is blown. It’s under warranty, so I can send it for free. I’m just concerned that an issue may arise when the apple people find out I have a very extensive collection of illegally downloaded music and videos. Should I be concerned about sending it to them?

Good read! Thanks for the tips :) I also heard that you should put your laptop in the freezer/fridge immediately after a spill? But I’m not sure if that could actually cause MORE damage. My advice is to invest in a laptop keyboard cover. It’s saved my laptop more than once!
