I thought all of the characters were over-the-top. It seemed like one particular personality trait was chosen to define each character and then the events when the character demonstrated that trait were the only scenes included in the movie; they were all very flat. Only a year removed from them, I still couldn’t relate at all. Maybe I would have liked it better if I was from rural Indiana rather than Chicago.

I have a number of issues with this film already. You looked for a racially diverse school, and yet not one of your “main characters” is non-white. It seems to be less of a true and complete portrayal of the “American Teen,” and more about whose stories you related to and deemed worthy of telling. Sorry, but based on this trailer, I don’t “see myself” in this movie- I see a regurgitation of the cliched high school archetypes we’re SUPPOSED to care about, rather than the much more numerous students who fall in between.
