Dear Sam, In case you weren't aware of this, young kids ARE going nuts over Billy Joel's music, just as they did back in the early 1970's when his music was new. Well-written music will always be appreciated and rediscovered by new generations of listeners, especially during times when the newest music being marketed and broadcast is as insipid and banal as today's 'hits'. Mozart, Beethoven, Gershwin, Lennon and MacCartney, Dylan, and Joel will never grow old to young listeners hungry for something substantive and meaningful. Don't be so hasty to assume that kids can't recognize quality - particularly when they feel they have discovered it on their own.
