Low class for FAB. Respect the rock traditions and you'll get respect yourself. This is violating for the NU traditions of the Rock.

Respect is earned, not automatically given. FAB certainly didn't earn any with this stunt.

As a member of AAFAB I would like to speak on my behalf only, not the group as a whole. let's be clear about that first please. An official statement must be made by the FAB president. As to the concern about not executing the overnight watch of the rock, let it be known that there WAS an overnight guarding of the rock, from 10 p.m. through the time of the protest (12 p.m. to be exact). Next, our event was publicized approximately 4 days before the event was to take place. So logically, I would say that FAB went to great measures to ensure that the awareness program was a success. I think it is unfortunate that FAB's effort to draw attention to this issue was seen as a offense or exercise of affirmative action. Regardless of the position of SEED, I think that FAB qualifies for the same amount of respect of every other student organization on the Northwestern campus.

Not having to guard the rock for 24 hours...is this their idea of affirmative action?

Amen.
I saw the students painting the rock red in broad daylight. I thought it was weird that they chose their 24 hour waiting period should end around noonish. There's obviously no official punishment for it, but not guarding the rock overnight flies in the face of decades of history.
Really classless. SEED deserves an apology.

Yeah... for anyone that DIDN'T see SEED's incredibly cute iceberg (with a tiny little polar bear, even), it was adorable. And quite frankly, it was somewhat bitchy for AAFAB to paint over their hard work with a shitty red and black rock with a number. I mean regardless of how I feel about their issue's legitimacy, AAFAB screwed with SEED. Either plan ahead to publicize your event on time or wait your turn.
