NU Students for Obama paint Ba-Rock…Oct. 29

Supporters of Barack Obama painted “Ba-Rock,” encouraging students to vote on November 4.
From the national Web site:
“Students for Barack Obama, founded in the summer of 2006, began with a few students using Facebook to petition Senator Obama to run for President in 2008. The passion and dedication of thousands of students has transformed that movement into the official student organization of Obama for America — and one of the largest grassroots student organizations in history.”
The group at Northwestern is canvassing in Iowa and Indiana this weekend.

Hi everyone…
My name is Julie Noce… I’m a news producer for Swiss TV, Washington DC Bureau. I’m in need of a few students for a story we’re doing on the public service/ volunteerism of college aged Obama supporters.
Swiss TV is the national public broadcaster for the country of Switzerland; we are to Switzerland what the BBC is to England. We have three channels for each of our three national languages, French, German and Italian.
Our crew has been here in Chicago covering the election since Oct. 27th. One of our final news stories will focus on whether young Obama supporters will truly heed his request to devote their time and energy to public service. I’m looking for a candidate to profile for our story who has been inspired by President Elect Obama to put off that high paying career in order to spend time helping the greater good.
I’m interested in finding a student, preferably a senior or graduate student, who is planning to go right into public service upon getting their degree. This person might be an education major who will join Americorp, for example. But any major will do…poly sci, law, med or business. I would want to film this person tomorrow morning, Thurs. Nov. 6, on campus. My crew and I would come to campus and get a few shots of you in your dorm/ apartment, a few shots of you walking across campus, and then conduct a brief interview about why you feel called to public service.
This particular story will air on our Swiss German news magazine program called “10v10″; it’s similar to “60 Minutes” or “Dateline” here in the US. The material we shoot will be edited in Zurich into a 5 minute story and will air tomorrow, Thurs. Nov. 6, 2008. We will happily send you a link to watch the story on line.
I am under STRICT DEADLINE! Please pass this email onto friends, colleagues who you think might be interested in helping out. I am available anytime on my cell phone. Please call or email me immediately.
Thank you in advance for your help, and I hope to hear back soon.
Best regards,
Julie Noce/ EX. Producer
