Tight ideological control bordering thought policing. This has nothing to do with Googling embarrassment. Nicknames are anonymous so people can speak their minds. That's the point of it. What Obama wants to know is what you say when you speak your mind. Its another sign of his being a control freak.

Welcome to the 21st Century. This application may be extensive, but expect it to be the new norm from here on out. With the microscopic scrutiny that extremist right and left-wing blogs, or even major publications for that matter (have you read the New York Times piece analyzing the potential messages his choice in dog will send?), apply to every aspect of his personal life, this is simply a precaution that modern presidents have to take. The internet today is wildly different than it was four years ago, and you can bet that anybody hired to an even relatively noticeable position in Obama's administration will have the shit googled out of their name within moments of their appointment so that the Huff Post, Fox News or the Drudge Report can write a scandalous headline about an errant blog comment from three years ago. It's the world we live in, you just have to get used to it.
