Wrestlepocalypse returns to Shanley Pavilion
If you are looking for a wild, out-of-control way to start Dillo Day weekend, look no further than Wrestlepocalypse III. Produced by the student theater company Vertigo Productions, Wrestlepocalypse brings outrageous characters to the ring for an action-packed event. The franchise has already given us two years of body slamming and beer guzzling, and this year promises to be just as unpredictable.
This year’s competitors include jock-despising dancer Johnson Vaughn Baryshnikov, British drag wrestler Sprada and the unlikely tag team of Abraham Lincoln and Captain Confederacy, accompanied by their manager John Wilkes Booth.
René Jovel, co-director and a wrestler in the show named the Notorious A.I.G., said the only rule is there are no rules.
Wrestlepocalypse III will take place at Shanley Pavilion on Thurs. May 28 at 8 p.m. and Fri. May 29 at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Advanced tickets at the Norris Box Office for the Friday shows have sold out, and less than half are still available for the Thursday show. Tickets will be available at the door, but Jovel expects students to show up one to two hours in advance.
“It’s not your typical theater show,” Jovel said. “It’s all about audience participation. Get ready to cheer for the good guy or the bad guy.”
Check out the video from last year's Wrestlepocalypse. Or you can return home.

Tickets will be sold at the door!

That Lonestar is feisty. I’d watch out for her.
