Holes cast and crew paint the Rock: Nov. 18
Cast and crew of the Purple Crayon Players’ fall play Holes painted the Rock midnight Wednesday. The adaptation of Louis Sachar’s well-known novel runs Thursday through Saturday at the Shanley Pavilion. Tickets are $5.
Amnesty International paints the Rock: Nov. 17
Members of Amnesty International’s Northwestern (AINU) chapter painted the Rock for Stop Violence Against Women Week, which runs Monday through Friday. AINU will celebrate Stop Violence Against Women Week with programs including a viewing of a documentary addressing international sex trade and a discussion by women’s rights activist Ahmed Ghasmery on Friday at Norris.
More than 1500 show up for first day of H1N1 vaccinations
University Health Services, in conjunction with the Evanston Department of Health and Human Services, began providing free H1N1 vaccinations to students on Tuesday. Interdisciplinary center to bring new perspectives to cancer research
Individuals across Northwestern are coming together to further cancer research thanks to a five-year, $13.6 million grant awarded by the National Cancer Institute. The result of this interdisciplinary collaboration will be a Physical Sciences-Oncology center (PS-OC) that brings new models and perspectives to the study of cancer.
Previous deferred payments, not lower pay, led to Bienen’s 2008 “salary drop”
The annual survey of the Chronicle of Higher Education showed that Bienen’s total compensation dropped by $438,835 in the 2008 fiscal year. But Bienen’s salary from 2007 was reportedly inflated by payments that he had deferred from previous years.
Prosecutors accuse Medill students of engineering evidence; judge delays hearing
