Mayfest has announced indie rock band Hippo Campus as the opener for Dillo Day 2019.

The band, originally from Minnesota, released their first EP, Bashful Creatures, in 2014, re-releasing it in 2015 after signing to Grand Jury Records. Their 2o17 debut ablum, Landmark, peaked at #15 on Billboard's Top Alternative Albums chart. The band's 2018 album Bambi was described as "delightfully transparent" by Atwood Magazine.

Mayfest Concerts committee member Alana Ramquist said in a statement that Hippo Campus was one of the most requested artists for Dillo.

"We are positive that their engaging, energizing set will start the day off strong," Ramquist said.

With Hippo Campus' announcement, the number of unannounced artists has fallen to one. And with the final announcement imminent, the Dillo 2019 lineup will soon be complete.
