Illinois runs away with the win

The Northwestern Wildcats played their final home game of the season in front of a sell-out crowd at historic Wrigley Field, but lost 48-27 against in-state rival, the Illinois Fighting Illini. Despite heading into halftime down by three points, 27-24, the Wildcats couldn’t generate the offense or defense to pull out the win. Illinois running back Mikel Lashoure ran an Illini-record 330 yards, and the Northwestern defense gave up a total of 559 yards to Illinois’s potent offense. The Wildcats will finish up their regular season against No. 5 Wisconsin on Saturday in Madison. Prepare for the worst, Wildcat Nation.
