Northwestern’s Mock Trial team painted the Rock on Friday night after an unsuccessful attempt to claim it the weekend before. While you participated in post-Snoop/Cudi festivities, Mock Trial was channeling their, um, artistic energy into painting.
The team painted it as a way for new members to bond with old members — a yearly tradition, new member and Medill freshman Taylor Thomas said.
“We wrote ‘Mock the Rock’ because we all like bad puns,” Thomas said. Lucky for the team, as of Tuesday the Rock still bore their design.
Unlike other groups, the event wasn’t for publicity. However, team president and Medill senior Jared Hoffman said, the team will be competing in the Great American Mock Trial Invitational in a few weeks. Plug accomplished, Hoffman.
