Submit your work to North by Northwestern and Block Cinema's film fest

For the past two years, North by Northwestern has hosted a film festival. (Check out our 2007 and 2008 iterations.) But this year, we’re leaving our computer screens for two seconds and actually having this thing in person.

We’re teaming up with Block Cinema to put on their fourth annual Northwestern Student Film Festival. The winning films will be screened on May 22 at 8 p.m. at Block Cinema, and will also be available in streaming versions on North by Northwestern after the ceremony.

Got a film? You definitely want to submit it. Not only will you gain eternal Internet glory, but you’ll also get judged by the likes of Scott Tobias, writer for entertainment site A.V. Club.

A few ground rules: Your film must be under 30 minutes and completed in 2008 or 2009, while you were enrolled at Northwestern. If you submit your film, it will be reviewed and you’ll be notified if your film is chosen to screen at the festival.

Click here to download a PDF of the application to find out more details. Have any questions? Send Block Cinema an e-mail.

Note: This film festival is not affiliated with the Block Museum, which is currently running an advertisement on our site. We’re not making any money off this film fest — it’s all for you guys!
