Top 10 rap lyrics that allude to the Clinton family

As perhaps the most controversial presidential election in the history of the United States is rapidly approaching (T-14 days), it seems as though neither of the two candidates have been clear, true winners during this dismal campaign cycle. On the other hand, political satire outlets have been rolling in comedy gold for months. In a feeble attempt to contribute – if not compete – with the hilarity that has ensued in the satire world (e.g. Stephen Colbert’s “RNC Condiment Cam”), NBN presents, in no particular order: the top ten rap lyrics that refer to the Clinton family.

    1. "Let’s Stay Together" – Ludacris

“Hillary is still with Bill Clinton, how did they do it? He got his d*** sucked and the whole damn world knew it!”

Meaning: Self-explanatory, but Ludacris is questioning how the power couple’s relationship wasn’t permanently damaged by Bill’s infidelity.

    2. "Stand Tall" – Ice Cube

“And the CIA won’t take it back; Never on top always on bottom; Never put your trust in Hillary Rodham; Cause I can tell you now it’s goin’ turn out rotten”

Meaning: Here, Ice Cube is alluding to the CIA (allegedly) being involved in drug trafficking – specifically cocaine – during the 1980s to fund the Contra rebels during the war in Nicaragua. He also makes clear that he does not trust Hillary Clinton as a candidate for president as this song was released in 2008 when Clinton was running against Obama for the Democratic nomination.

“You know you miss this ride; m-i-s-s, miss this pie, used to call me Hillary cause I ride ‘em (Rodham)”

    4. "A Thing For Me" – G-Eazy

“And lately, I’ve been looking for some quick relief; Liberally, accepting Monica’s but missing Hillary”

Meaning: Healing from a breakup, G-Eazy is currently hooking up with a lot of girls. On the other hand, however, he misses the feeling of being with someone he truly cares about.

    5. "Lollipop" – Lil Wayne

“And when I’m at the bottom, she Hillary Rodham”

Meaning: This lyric also plays off the fact that Hillary Clinton’s maiden name Rodham sounds like “ride him.” Additionally, Wayne is suggesting that the woman he is currently with is accomplished, just like Hillary.

“Make a basic b**** feel like Hillary Clinton”

    7. "What If" – G-Eazy

“What if the whole world believed in Obama? What if Bill Clinton had never got head? Would we pay attention to real f****** issues instead?

Meaning: G-Eazy is getting real deep with his listeners through these lyrics, as he ponders a perfect world, and asks the hard (yet still rhetorical) questions.

    8. "How Do U Want It?" – 2Pac

“Instead of tryin’ to help a n**** you destroy a brother; Worse than others, Bill Clinton, Mr. Bob Dole, You’re too old to understand the way the game is told.”

Meaning: Here, 2Pac is criticizing a crime bill that Bill Clinton signed into law in 1994. The bill disenfranchised many members of the African American community, as it increased incarceration rates.

    9. "They Point" – E-40

“They took me out the streets but it’s still in me; I been sellin’ work since we had Bill Clinton; I’m the voice on the streets so they still listen.”

Meaning: Basically, E-40 is counting the years that he’s been rapping against Bill Clinton’s years in the Oval Office (1993 – 2001).

    10. "Role Model" – Eminem

“So if I said I never did drugs, that would mean I lie and get f***ed more than the President does; Hillary Clinton tried to slap me and call me a pervert; I ripped her tonsils out and fed her sherbet.”

Meaning: This is a direct diss toward Hill-Dawg. Additionally, Eminem has publicized his disdain toward her/her family before.
