T-mobile releases first Google phone

Early Tuesday morning, T-mobile introduced the first phone to run Google’s Android software, the T-mobile G1.
Hits:

Google Apps. Gmail and Gchat, hurrah!
Amazon MP3 Store
Apps run in the background. Is your iPhone jealous?
Wifi and 3G connectivity
Android Market. Just like Apple’s App Store.

A glance at Google’s Android

Google’s Android team has finally released a video showing how the open source software actually functions. While I wasn’t too impressed with the budget phone model, I was highly impressed by the higher-end, touch-based model.

The Good:
- Google Streetview
